Meditation: Dwelling on Truth

Renewing the mind through contemplation of God's Word

Biblical Meditation

Biblical meditation is not emptying the mind, but filling it with truth. It's the practice of deeply contemplating scripture, allowing God's Word to penetrate your thoughts, reshape your beliefs, and transform your perspective. This ancient spiritual discipline renews the mind and anchors the soul in truth.

Scripture Focus

Choose a passage and read it slowly, repeatedly. Let each word sink in, asking what God might be revealing through the text.

Deep Reflection

Consider what the passage means, how it applies to your life, and what truth it reveals about God's character.

Personal Application

Ask how this truth should change your thinking, actions, or relationships. Meditation leads to transformation.

Continuous Practice

Carry the truth with you throughout the day, returning to it in quiet moments and allowing it to guide decisions.

The Practice of Meditation

Select Your Passage: Choose a verse or short passage that speaks to you. Don't rush— one verse meditated on deeply has more power than many chapters read quickly.

Read and Re-read: Read the passage multiple times, each time noticing different words, phrases, or meanings. Read it aloud to engage more senses.

Ask Questions: What does this reveal about God? What does it say about me? How should this change my perspective or behavior?

Memorize and Carry: Commit the passage to memory so it becomes part of your thinking. Return to it throughout the day, especially in challenging moments.

Pray the Scripture: Turn the passage into prayer, asking God to make the truth real in your life and to transform you through His Word.
